Changing Passwords in DanceWorks

May 26th, 2010 by DJ

The security and privacy of your data is important, so we want you to know that DanceWorks can help. Each week, I remotely connect to dozens of computers and, each week, I am amazed by how many of our customers are still using DanceWorks’ default password. Suddenly, it struck me that perhaps some of you aren’t aware that you can change your DanceWorks passwords and even add additional users with different permission levels. Well, you can and here’s how (click here for permalink to embedded video below):

hi I just downloaded the upgraded danceworks 5.7.29 but how do I get it onto my other computer in the front reception which is networked with danceworks. That computer is connected with Point of Sale and is mainly used in all daily sales. Is it ok for the time being that one has the upgrade and one doesnt. I think Dale always talked us through doing the second computer.

Thank you I look forward to your help

      Hi Francine,

You can install the update on the other computer in the same way you installed it on your first computer. Just download the update on your workstation and run the installation.

If you don’t get your other computer updated right away, you have nothing to worry about. As long as both computers are running DanceWorks version 5.7.xx (in the case of your first computer, DanceWorks should now be 5.7.29 – your other computer should be anything between 5.7.01 and 5.7.28) everything should work properly. If you need some assistance updating, please give us a call at 800-286-3471 or visit our live online support center using the computer you want to update.
